Door-to-door shipping connects an agreed origin collection point with a final delivery address. It does not by itself define who pays duties or who acts as importer; those responsibilities need separate agreement.
Define both doors
Give the actual supplier address and receiving address, including postcodes and contacts. Explain whether either location has access restrictions. Factory loading, residential delivery and fulfillment-center appointments can require different arrangements.
State the customs scope
Ask who handles export and import formalities, who is the importer and whether duties and taxes are included. A door-delivery quote can have different cost responsibilities under different commercial terms.
Clarify delivery services
Tell the forwarder whether the site can unload, whether a liftgate is needed and whether a delivery appointment is required. Delivery to a building entrance is not automatically the same as indoor placement or installation.
Track the whole journey
Keep pickup, international departure, customs release and final delivery as separate milestones. Share changes to the receiving contact early. If the shipment is going to FBA, warehouse receiving remains a separate process after delivery.
